VFR Mission Exercise  EAA 1903

Night flight can be as visually challenging as flying in IMC. However, even if you’re a VFR only pilot you can use your instruments to orient yourself in the dark. Find a qualified instructor to show you how to use some basic IFR procedures for situational awareness and how that can help shine a light on the airport below.

Remember you’re still flying VFR and you need to keep your eyes outside, but your panel has got some good stuff on it that can help keep you oriented. So use it. Runway 7 has both an ILS and a WAAS GPS approach so you’ve got two vertical advisory opportunities. Try them both. Next stop, your instrument rating...

This mission is an exercise. You are encouraged to fly it multiple times to get comfortable with the procedures. Repetition builds skill.

This mission exercise can be flown on any one of the Redbird Flight Simulation devices in our flight training network.  You can find a flight training center near you by using our locator app.  Just search for the EAA Proficiency365 mission locations under Bundles.
