VFR Mission Exercise  EAA 1902

An engine-out on departure always happens to someone else. Well today you are someone else. On this mission exercise you will be presented with situations that require some quick thinking; fly straight ahead, turn back...? Your instructor or sim safety pilot will be directed to initiate an engine failure at different points in each mission episode. The right decision may always be the same.

Take time before you fly to check your aircraft’s POH for the best glide speed, emergency procedures, and takeoff distance. Brief the Jeppesen Airport Info page and the weather for Tweed-New Haven. Get your departure release from the tower and identify your decision points. You’ve got a good runway; in fact you’ve kind of got two.

This mission is an exercise and you are encouraged to fly this mission multiple times.

This mission exercise can be flown on any one of the Redbird Flight Simulation devices in our flight training network.  You can find a flight training center near you by using our locator app.  Just search for the EAA Proficiency365 mission locations under Bundles.
